Troop 17 Committee Minutes: 1/9/06

I.                  Welcome, introductions, & Call to Order

II.               Review of Minutes

·        Last recorded minutes from December5th, 2005 were approved.

III.           Reports to Committee

·        Re-chartering-Mike

o        Needs account information from Tomahawk for quality unit award.

o       Troop has 27 Scouts & 15 adult leaders/11 Scouts have dropped/net loss of 4 Scouts (Mark added – “this is about avg.”) Mike will provide master roster to any interested.

o       $1000.00 for re-chartering sponsor- UCC’s utilities, will also cover new locks, & tentatively first aid boxes (Mark & Scouts will check need)

·        ScoutMaster – Jerry

o       Provided copies of adult & Scout contact information 

·        Treasurer – Jim

o       $35.00 is the annual fee for re-chartering (9.00 for Boys Life, $11.00 registration, & $15.00 Troop expenses). 

o       Committee agreed to Jim’s suggestion – the cost for a 2nd Scout from the same family will be $15.00)

IV.     Old Business

·        Health forms need to be updated in next few months

·        Awaiting future equipment status update from Equipment Coordinator -  Brian K. & Scout Quarter Master, Paul Davis

·        Webelos visits on Jan. 30th & Feb. 6th

 

 

 

V.      New Business

·        Bob

o       OA Election Cards sent out for Jan.  23rd nominations

o       Met Scout veteran of Isle Royal backpacking at Roundtable that would be willing to visit as we plan August High Adventure.

·        Mark

o       Provided tentative agenda for 90th Troop anniversary camp. Mark reserved lots of space at Fred C. Anderson camp. This will include our traditional “Pigs Will Die” breakfast. Would like to meet with others for about an hour to plan.

o       Pat added he would help with press release.

·        Pat

o       Would like secretary (Doug) work with scribe to create newsletter that could be posted on web. Troop needs to recruit scribe.    

o       Wants to expedite planning by leaders and PL for Feb. through Aug.

o       Would like to work with secretary on a parent survey to better utilize our resources. BSA has one form for this.

o       Will do Friends of Scouting on Feb. 6th

o       Wants to send letter to parents referring them to web resource for information, etc.
