Troop 17 Committee Minutes: March 20th 2006 (Revised 4/4/06)

I.                  Welcome & Call to Order

II.               Review of Minutes

·        Last recorded minutes from Feb. 6th, 2006 were approved with revisions.

III.           Reports to Committee

·        ScoutMaster – Jerry

o       Several Scouts approaching Eagle rank & thus we should keep updated concerning their progress.

·        Jim

o       Will bring spread sheet with camp credit information to next meeting or email.

o       Funds available if equipment needed.

IV.     Old Business

·        Pat

o       Has completed letter & information packet for each Scout and Parent(s). Goal is to update status on training, advancements, financial status, etc. (missing camp credits, but Jim will provide)

·        Equipment Coordinator - Brian

o       Still investigating idea of patrol boxes & checkout procedures.

·        Mark -90 Anniversary planning

o       Planning going well, many activities planned, letters being mail & camp space reserved.

  V.    New Business

·        Pat

o       Worked with committee to fix core calendar dates for next year. Draft to be completed in April. Plan to finalize calendar by May and pass on to Scouts so that they can add their agenda items. Goal is start next year well planned out.

o       As part of the new year, Pat suggested that we help Scouts designate one monthly meeting as a special meeting that includes a well defined activity. Suggest Scouts should wear uniforms.  Committee agreed.

o       For next year – committee agreed with Pat that we should assign 2 adult volunteers to each patrol. The adults would support & coach the patrols.

o       Pat volunteered to contact those Scouts who did not transition into the troop & see if they are interested.

·        Mike (concerning Training)

o       Ask that adults who go on outings take child protection training (can be taken online & copy of certificate given to Mike for file)

o       Will provide other dates for additional training for those interested
